Summary of the project
In recent years ecology, climate change and sustainable development have become very serious issues, 2013 has been designated by the European Environment Agency as the year of Air. In all three South Caucasus countries environment and waste management rank among national priorities.
The project “Recycle me” was developed in the frame of the new SCI-platform CIWE (Cooperation in West and East for Volunteering and Peace) and aims at raising public awareness about environment problems.
Besides raising public awareness on environmental issues, the project "Recycle me" aims to bring young people form Caucasus region, East- and West Europe together, in order to break down prejudices and enemy images and explore other opportunities of a peaceful neighbourhood through a common learning and working process.
8 Participants from Caucasus region and 11 participants from eastern and western countries will come together in Tbilisi, the Capital of Georgia. In a first part the participants will be trained to improve and deepen their knowledge on environmental friendly & sustainable ways of living and on the ecological situation and development in the Caucasus region, especially Georgia.
