BASIDA is an NGO that provides medical and psychosocial support to HIV-positives and drug dependent persons. Since 1987, it has opened three centres, all of them run by a multi-professional voluntary staff. Physical and psychological recovery as well as social rehabilitation of Basida residents is progresivelly achieved thanks to close teamwork focused on proving them that someone really cares for them. Basida team tries to help those attending the centre, that for long time have experienced social exclusion, to regain hope and self-esteem. Participating in the everyday life of the Centre, mainly giving a hand with the maintenance of the place (cooking, doing the laundry, cleaning, helping with the carpentry or gardening on a rota basis, etc.)Personal care of residents who might need it (such as helping out to get dressed) is also a possible task, but only if you really feel prepared for doing it. An important part of your stay will be socializing with the community of the centre.

This workcamp takes place in Rennes (Bretagne) in a center for physically disabled "APF Guillaume d'Achon". The Association of Paralysed France (APF) was established in 1933 by the will of four young people with polio, and revolted against the exclusion of which they were victims. Recognized as a public utility, the APF is a national associations of defense and representation of people with motor impairments or multiple disabilities and their families together 26 000 members, 30 000 users, 25,000 volunteers and 13,500 employees in France. Volunteers will assist the permanent staff in the planning of animation. If you have artistic talents, They are welcome: music, video editing, theater . You will be prompted to set up activities during the day or evening, organize games, sightseeing, a trip or a picnic. The list of activities is unlimited and each by his sensitivity and creativity will bring to the group his personal wealth. Your interpersonal skills, your sense of touch and your joy will allow you to accomplish these tasks naturally.
Castle Kynzvart (CZ-INE 12.2 )

The workcamp takes place at the site of the famous castle Kynzvart which belonged to the councillor Metternich in the 19th century. The neo-classical castle has a charming park and an amazing history going back to the 13th century. It is situated in the westernmost corner of the Czech Republic, near the spa towns Karlovy Vary - Marianske Lazne - Frantiskovy Lazne. The volunteers will work in the castle park and in the surrounding forest park. They will mainly perform maintenance and gardening tasks such as cleaning paths, weeding, removing fallen branches and leaves, making wood etc.
Accomodation and food is provided by the hosting organization.
Travel cost: to be covered by the volunteer.
Participation fee: 100 euro.
Deadline: minimum 2 weeks before the workcamp starts.
