Description: Tara KMC is a Buddhist meditation centre in the heart of the English countryside. It is an international association of study and meditation centres that follow the pure tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. The purpose of the teachings is to increase the Buddhist faith throughout the world. During the work-camp, Tara Kadampa's staff will work on the organisation of the National Dharma Celebration (a buddhist festival) together with the volunteers.
Type of Work: Helping to prepare the beautiful grounds of a Buddhist meditation centre in the heart of England. Volunteers will be required to help with the running of the Buddhist meditation centre. You should be prepared to assist in kitchens, cafe, household, grounds and general day to day tasks which will take up the majority of the day. Also you will have a chance to discover a little about the Buddhist way of life.
Accommodation: Volunteers will be accommodated in a male/female dormitory. Breakfast is self-catering, yet Tara Kadampa provides volunteers with hot meals for lunch and supper. All food is vegetarian or vegan (no gluten free availability). In regards to the laundry, coin operated washing machine are available. WI-FI connection is available as well. Volunteers should bring their own sleeping bag and towels.
Accommodation and food is provided by the hosting organization.
Travel cost: to be covered by the volunteer.
Participation fee: 50 euro.
