The Centre for Intercultural Dialogue (CID) is a non-governmental, non-profit youth organization that works on regional level in Macedonia. It was formed in May 2006 by active youth leaders and youth workers from Kumanovo. CID works for society of intercultural dialogue, active citizenship and sustainable development where all people live together with mutual respect.
About the Seminar
The main aim of the seminar “Learnt Lessons in Youth Regional Cooperation” is to encourage and create opportunities for representatives of youth sector (policy-makers, youth researchers, youth workers and young people) to share experiences and knowledge on youth cooperation, and engage them in a dialogue to foster the EU social cohesion.
It will gather representatives of 36 different organizations, from the EU Member States plus the IPA countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Macedonia, Moldova, Kosovo, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK, and Ukraine).
The project will have several phases in which each participant/partner organization should take part:
Preparation: FROM 11th of August to 1st of October 2013.
Prior to the seminar, regional workshops will be prepared, following working group’s methodological approach (one working group per sub – region, one reporter per working group). All partners should identify best practices in youth regional cooperation during the period 2007 – 2013, to share and to analyze them during the seminar, targeted to define a cooperation regional strategy for the period 2014 – 2020 in the field of youth and social cohesion.
Between the 22nd of September and the 1st of October the Seminar Team will contact each group reporters to arrange the regional workshop’s needs.
During the Seminar participants will work together to develop the following outcomes: 09th-17th of October 2013.
· To share the identified best practices in workshop format (regional workshops as explained before)
· To start up a blog for youth regional cooperation
· To develop few policy briefs of seminar conclusions
· To develop promotional video, sharing their experiences and best practices in youth regional cooperation
At the very end of the seminar, a national conference will be organized inviting the main stakeholders responsible for youth and civil society cooperation in Macedonia and the region. Participants will have a chance to share their outcomes from the seminar and promote the benefits of the European cooperation in youth field.
Follow up: 17th of October to 31st of December 2013.
The participants are expected to promote the seminar outcomes back in their working environment. There will be a space to develop follow up projects and network.
The objectives of the project are:
· Analyze and share best practices in youth cooperation in order to improve preparation and/or realization of European youth policies
· Promote youth regional cooperation, integration, and involvement of European organizations in the development of European youth policies and programmes
· Promote the newly developed programmes for youth and regional cooperation for the period 2014 – 2020, by the European Commission.
Methodology:
The programme of the seminar will be in the framework of non-formal education, using an interactive and participative approach. The seminar will provide the space to exchange that experience and will engage the organizations to constructively contribute to and promote the new youth programmes of EU Commission. The preparatory phase will use mainly ICT's for the identification of good practices and the regional working groups (Skype meetings, email communication, DROPBOX).
The Seminar will combine input information, sensitization, and dissemination methods, and will involve the activities such as Local Community Impact, Teambuilding, Lectures, Workshops, Working Groups, Evaluation, Dissemination and Visibility. The working language will be English. The session will be facilitated by facilitators and will involve input by invited experts.
Profile of the Participants:
- Youth workers or youth leaders active within their organizations
- Have experience in organizing projects within the Youth in Action programme
- Already have experience in working with young people, organizing initiatives and projects
- Be committed to attend for the full duration of the course and be supported by a youth organisation
- Be motivated to contribute to the seminar with their experience and competences
-Be aged 18 years old and above
- Competently able to work in English language
The working language of the training will be English. Applicants must have sufficient understanding of the working language in order to comprehend and complete this application form without assistance from another person.
Accommodation: Board and lodging are provided and paid for by the organizers;
Participation fee: NONE!
Travel cost and reimbursement: 70% of travel costs will be reimbursed only for the cheapest way of transport. The travel cost will be reimbursed, after submitting all original tickets and recipes.
How to apply?
In order to apply candidates must send a motivation letter and CV to placement@avimd.org before 09th of August 2013 . The subject of the mail should be as the title of the project, the documents you will send saved with your name and surname. This is a call for participants from Moldova, we will not take into consideration applications received from other countries!
Participants will be selected on the basis of their applications and ensuring a balance in terms of gender, organizational participation and cultural background. The selection of the participants will be done by the organizing team, respecting the priority and opinion of the partner organizations. Participants will be informed about the selection shortly after the deadline.
