March 21st was declared International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination by the General Assembly of the United Nations as a reaction to the murder of 69 anti-apartheid demonstrators in Sharpeville, South-Africa, in 1960. During the annual European-wide Action Week, which centres around 21 March, thousands of people actively engage themselves for tolerance, equal rights and celebrate the diversity of Europe.
This campaign aims to highlight the issues of racism from a non-gouvernmental perspective on all levels - local, national and European. We call upon all organisations to take part in the campaign. Your group can organise concerts or conferences, send protest letters to policy-makers or find other ways of voicing your opinion. Just contact us - we can provide you with information and campaign material and logos. Some available posters:
During one day in spring we plan to take action in the grand social-ecological project in the history of the Republic of Moldova - the country's trash cleaning for the entire territory. Who will clean? You, me and everyone living in this country!
This initiative was taken by a group of young volunteers who formed the "Hai Moldova" project which attracts those who want to participate in carrying out its main purpose - cleaning the whole country in one day.
